Mayor’s Cup Tournament sees Miami Open Billfish Series team Wound Up three peat and take the lead in the series.

The SeaVee/Mercury Mayor’s Cup Tournament, the second leg of the Miami Open Billfish Series, saw eight series teams in attendance within a 42-boat field. Many MOBS boats made it to the winner’s stage, starting with team Wound Up’s dominating three-peat win. Wound Up is now leading the regular season by a narrow one-point margin. Rock Star kept its winning ways going by taking third place in the outboard division, which earned the team enough series points to hold onto second place. Another series boat High Standards won the outboard division and third place overall, providing them with enough series points to hold third place. Team Weez in the Keys had a nice showing, placing third in the inboard division, and team Qualifier made the game-fish board with a nice wahoo. So big congratulations to the MOBS teams that accepted awards at the Mayor’s Cup. For a complete rundown of the Mayor’s Cup final standings, visit www.mayorscup.com.
The series next stop is the Bob Lewis Billfish Challenge, Feb. 25-28, www.billfishchallenge.com. Series boats will continue on their quest to win a share of the regular-season jackpots worth $54,000 as they work their way toward the playoff and championship event. All the best,
