We would like to invite you to fish “The Sailfish Tournament” one of the first stops on the 2010 Sailfish season. New this year, we are the first qualifying tournament for the “Miami Open Billfish Series”. The “MOBS”was started to enable everyone a chance to fish a great Sailfish series and be able to stay local in the Miami area. The other tournaments in the series are; the “Mayor’s Cup”,“Capt. Bob Lewis”,“Masters Tournament” and the finals at the "Miami Billfish Tournament". Boats will take their best three scores from the four qualifiers to put towards the finals. This great new series is directed by Dan Jacobs and Marlin Magazine. Dan and the people at Bonnier Group (parent company for Marlin, Sportfishing and Salt Water Sportsman) do a great job with their tournaments in Cabo and Bermuda. This should be an exciting new series.
Once again we will be part of the World Billfish Series also. The WBS puts on tournaments around the world as qualifiers for their prestigious World Championship in Costa Rica. The winners of each of these tournaments receive an invitation to fish the World Championship each year.
As the worlds first “Carbon Neutral” fishing tournament, we are partnered with many environmental organizations, helping us continue to be the leader in raising awareness for our climate challenges. The Sailfish Tournament’s ability to bring this message forward, and present our generous prize packages, is due to the support of a broad array of sponsors who believe sportfishers and boat owners can have critically beneficial effect in reducing our green house gas footprint in mankind’s battle with climate change.
We have numerous ways to win money. Once your entry is paid we have several value added categories to choose from. You may enter as many as you like or none at all. Last year we added several fun fish categories, check out these categories for additional ways to earn valuable prizes and prize money. We think “The Sailfish Tournament” provides an exciting and competitive event for South Florida’s Tournament anglers.
The Sailfish Tournament and our sponsors are committed to changing the way our sport and industry impacts the environment. If you fish one tournament this year make it “The Sailfish Tournament”.
